For almost 150 years, the historic Montrose Homestead was a private residence used by the Badgery family as their summer retreat. In the 1980s, the estate began hosting weddings, offering the property for couples to use as their exclusive home for their special day – complete with delicious food, exceptional service, and picturesque ceremony and reception locations.

Situated on over 30 acres in the heart of the Southern Highlands, Montrose boasts parklike grounds with impressive old  trees, a wide range of seasonal blooms, formal lawns, water features, a pine forest, established orchard, hazelnut grove and paddocks featuring beautiful views across the Southern Highlands.

Our beautiful surroundings are the perfect canvas for your special day. From the imposing pine trees, elegant rose gardens, water fountain and ancient oaks and elms, our manicured gardens create the perfect setting for an elegant ceremony, garden party or fun & games for your guests. Lovingly cared for and nurtured by our gardening team, we work with the Southern Highlands’ climate to ensure the setting is magical in every season. Beautiful cherry and apple blossoms in spring, roses, peonies and hydrangeas in summer, an array of warm colours and falling leaves in autumn with camellias and daphne adding colour on crisp winter days.

Montrose House is set in 33 acres of parkland with so many different aspects to be discovered. From the paddocks that are home to our goats and ponies, the pine forest, established orchard and hazelnut grove, there are lots of opportunities to explore and take in the beautiful views across the Southern Highlands.
